Where We Work.
JSC works a 75 mile radius out of Hanford, which covers Kings County and reaches into Tulare and Fresno counties. Each town below has its own housing stock and its own building department, and both change how a job is scoped.
Hanford, CA
Hanford is where JSC is licensed and based, and it is the town whose housing stock we know best. The blocks around Courthouse Square and the Civic Auditorium carry homes built between the 1900s and the 1930s, and those come with their own rules: lath and plaster that does not take a modern anchor, original single pane windows, knob and tube that has been patched rather than replaced, and floor framing that was never sized for a stone countertop or a cast iron tub.

Visalia is the largest city JSC serves and the one with the widest spread of housing. There are 1920s bungalows near Downtown and Mill Creek, mid century ranches through the middle of town, and subdivisions off Demaree and Akers that are new enough to still be under builder finishes homeowners were never happy with.

Lemoore sits about ten minutes from JSC and carries a housing pattern shaped by NAS Lemoore. A large share of the stock turns over on military timelines, which means work here is often scoped against a date rather than against a season, and often on a house that is going to be rented or sold rather than lived in for twenty years.

Tulare is an agricultural town with agricultural housing: solid ranch homes, deep lots, detached shops and garages, and a lot of houses where the family has been in place long enough that the remodel is being done for how they live now rather than to sell.

Selma sits in Fresno County at the north edge of the JSC service area, about forty minutes from Hanford. The older housing near Whitson and Second Street runs to the 1920s through 1950s, with the plaster walls, narrow doorways and original service panels that period brings.

Reedley sits on the Kings River in Fresno County and has one of the better preserved older housing stocks in the area. Craftsman and early bungalow homes near the downtown core, with detail work worth keeping: original trim profiles, hardwood under three later floor coverings, and built ins that a careless remodel throws in a skip.

Dinuba is a Tulare County town of just over twenty thousand, and it has grown steadily enough that JSC sees both ends of the range here: original older homes near the centre and newer construction on the edges that is already ten to twenty years old and showing the builder grade finishes it left with.

Kingsburg keeps a Swedish architectural theme through its downtown, and a number of homeowners here want remodel work that respects that character rather than fighting it. That is a legitimate design constraint and JSC treats it as one.

Exeter sits at the foothill edge of Tulare County and is the last town before the ground starts to rise toward the Sierra. That matters for construction: sloped lots, varied drainage and older homes that were built to the site rather than to a tract plan.
