Selma sits in Fresno County at the north edge of the JSC service area, about forty minutes from Hanford. The older housing near Whitson and Second Street runs to the 1920s through 1950s, with the plaster walls, narrow doorways and original service panels that period brings.

Kitchens are the common job here, and in a house of that age the kitchen is rarely only a kitchen: the gas line, the panel capacity and the drain routing usually all have to be brought up to current code before anything visible gets installed.
