An addition is the job that most exposes whether a contractor is actually licensed for structural work. JSC holds a California B General Building licence, which is the classification that covers framing, foundation and the coordination of the trades under it.
Valley additions live or die on the envelope. California Title 24 sets the energy requirements, and on a west facing room in Hanford or Visalia the glazing, shading and insulation decisions are the difference between a room the family uses and a room that is unbearable from June to September.
Every addition is permitted and inspected. There is no version of this work that is cheaper because it skips that, only a version that becomes the buyer's problem at resale.
